A Modern Twist on Craftsman Architecture, Welcome to The Elliott

The Elliott is RCI’s newest floor plan and model home in Hickory Hill. Simple, yet compelling, the highly contrasted exterior color scheme is a modern take on the traditional Craftsman. There’s a reason Craftsman architecture has been popular for over 100 years and RCI is no novice when it comes to this building style! Carefully arranged exterior elements such as decorative corbels, gables, columns, and board & batten siding help make this design recognizable.

Inside the home, we focused on blending classic and modern elements throughout. Craftsman style of the past centered on dark, wood tones with low ceilings but this home turned that upside down with a grand foyer and 12’ coffered ceilings in the family room. Substantial built-ins are accented by natural light flooding in from not one, but two multipaneled sliding

glass doors. Perfect for casual family living or easy entertaining, these bright and airy spaces are multifunctional and fun!

Our well-appointed kitchen and serving pantry feature classic cabinetry with ample storage and modern appliances. Striking quartz and granite countertops are complimented by traditional tile backsplashes. Both spaces are accented with contemporary plumbing and lighting fixtures. The carefully planned layout and large kitchen island enable the cook in your family to remain part of the action while entertaining family and friends.

The interior styling follows the same blending of concepts. Most of the rooms will favor a modern look with clean lines and an overall minimalist style. However, the Craftsman esthetic shines through with layers of natural elements like stone, wood, and handcrafted antique objects and art. The end result is a home that feels fresh and bright but retains just enough of the natural touch to give the interior a warm, comfortable feeling.

Paying homage to coveted Craftsman elements, our Elliott model blurs the line between classic and modern with its unique esthetic. A true hybrid: this is not your grandmother’s Craftsman, but we think she’d like it!

With over 1,750 acres yet only 277 home sites all approximately one acre or more, our Hickory Hill community combines rural life with urban convenience. Just minutes from I-95, you are greeted into the community by a large four foot by eight-foot sign indicating the community’s base price and builder information. Our paved, winding roads lead to several neighborhoods within the community, each with their own engraved entrance sign on prominent stone columns surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds. Each neighborhood has a connection point to our 4.68 miles of walking trails and bicycle paths leading to the community pavilion for fun, family use. You are guided by easy to read directional signs to our model home. Being one of our high traffic models, there are also easy-to-see balloons guiding the way.

With over 84% of our community being left in its natural state as an undeveloped preservation area, we are able to maintain the rural land that surrounds our community with minimal impact on the environment while emphasizing the historical significance of Hickory Hill. The next time you’re in the Ashland area, visit our Elliott model so you’re able to see for yourself the amount of thought and appreciation that went into this home.

The Elliott model home was awarded Best Model at the 2023 MAME Awards presented by the Home Building Association of Richmond. To visit our award-winning model in person, visit the Hickory Hill page on the RCI website for model hours and details.
